Utility kick’s off it’s 2011 Harvest for Hunger campaign to benefit the Cleveland Foodbank

Cleveland Thermal’s 2011 campaign runs from March 14th – April 15th.

2011 Goal is 2250 lbs of food and $2800 in cash donations = 14,080 Meals!

Cleveland Thermal is partnering again this year with 6 of it’s customers to break last years record contribution to the Cleveland Food Bank of 11,686 Meals!  Here is how your food or monetary contribution can make a difference:

One $ dollar $  =  4 Meals  vs.  One pound of food  =  1.28 Meals  (1 lb. is approx. 1.25, 12 oz. cans)

As you can see, cash donations go considerably farther.  Those interested in making a cash donation instead of or in addition to food you can do so at www.clevelandfoodbank.org/clevelandthermal

Those participants who donate five or more cans of food (5.12 Meals) at a time (in a bag including a business card) will have a chance to win CLEVELAND INDIANS TICKETS in our weekly ticket drawing.  Collection bins for your food donations are located in the main common areas of the participating buildings.  If your building is not participating this year and you what to contribute to our campaign you can make an on-line donation or drop off food at our main office at 1921 Hamilton Ave. in downtown Cleveland.  Thank you in advance for your support!

Harvest for Hunger is an annual 19 county food and funds drive that the Cleveland Food Bank organizes with three other food banks in the region to support Northeast Ohio food pantries, hot meal programs and shelters.  Your generous contributions provide valuable resources to local hunger centers.  Most recipients of these donations are children and senior citizens.  Although the most-needed donation is cash, the following food items provide essential support to local hunger centers: peanut butter, tuna fish, canned vegetables, beef stew, canned soup and cereal.
